Tell me more...
On August 11, 2020, Rob, an avid cyclist, was sick of staying at home during the pandemic, so he went for a day-trip to a town about 135 km away from his home. Along the way a visitor to Manitoba, who was lost, asked him what he was fundraising for? It took about 3 and a half minutes for Rob to think it was a fantastic idea and that very day The Prairie Thousand was born.
It didn't take long to decide that Wounded Warriors Canada was the charity of choice.
Rob is a military veteran who began his service in 1999. Having served in Bosnia and two tours of duty in Afghanistan, mental health and the care of those suffering has always been a subject close to his heart. Wounded Warriors Canada is very specific in that they deal only with mental health issues, and when Rob learned they are for first responders, veterans and their families, his choice was made and has never wavered.
