We have less than 10 days until we head to Edmonton. So much to do yet and so much to do yet for final preparations!! We still want to invite you all to our CFB Edmonton kickoff at 9 am (exact location on the base is yet tbd). You have supported us so much and we have a lot to thank you all for!

If you are unable to donate online, but still wish to contribute to The Prairie Thousand, please send your cheques to the address listed on the home page! We don't want to discourage anyone from sending a donation and helping out those who need it!!
Thank you so much! Rob and Marina We can almost do a countdown. Things are falling in to place quickly, but it's amazing how many hours are spent on this. I start editing a post, then a Facebook update, which means an update here on the website. 2 emails turn into 7 with 3 accompanying phone calls, then quickly remembering I had to make a poster, then another 2 emails... no wonder time is going so quickly!! Good thing we are passionate about this and enjoy every second of the process. Yes, we get tired, of course we do, but we love it nonetheless.
ANYWAYS... having said all of that, the events page is updated here on the website and we hope you will be able to see us somewhere along the route!! Well, as it says on the home page, all posts are now going to be accessible here as well. Feel free to leave us a comment or send us an email to support Rob on his journey. Keep checking back regularly and definitely daily from August 11-19!!
It is July 15 and we are getting excited! Less than a month and we are starting in Edmonton. It will be a beautiful Sunday of cycling around Edmonton and down to Lacombe. This day is Rob's 'century' day. That means he will be cycling more than 100 miles. I know we are in Canada and measure in KM, but the term was coined long before KM were used and we are holding on to that for bragging rights. Rob will be cycling about 162 km that day (160.934km is 100 miles) and getting the longest ride out of the way early.
I asked Rob if this is daunting at all, and he said no, bring it on! (Have a look at our home page and you will see there how many km he will be cycling each day) So keep on cheering for Rob, send encouraging words here or on Facebook and definitely honk if you pass him on the highway!! |
AuthorBoth of us, Rob and Marina, will be submitting entries through the course of the preparation and, naturally, daily on the journey Archives
